Ode to "Our Best Bites"

Ode to "Our Best Bites"
by Ace and Sasha Beorchia

Oh our good friend, Our Best Bites!
We seek your wisdom from your internet sites.
Your recipes cook up like a charm,
And never have they done us harm.

A true friend you are, to our appetite,
We call on your assistance every other night.
The shish-ka-bobs turned out delightful,
And though newly-weds, no dinner has been frightful.

The baked potatoes with Alfredo sauce
Was definitely not a loss!
Every meal turns out delicious,
And most of them (all except the amazing cinnamon rolls) have been nutritious.

And so to you, we write this poem,
From the dining room of our lovely home.
Just to let you know we rely on your assistance,
To receive your guidance we would go a great distance.

One could nearly be certain that we own nearly every cook-book ever written. I don't just mean your average, Joe-Shmo, everyday published cook-book either. Chances are... we have every ward, stake, and family cook-book also. However, there is still a lost pearl waiting for a place on our closet's shelf... OUR BEST BITES! Sasha says "never have I felt so close to cooking like Betty Crocker, George Foreman, and Julia Childs, all thanks to Our Best Bites." In fact, this is the only item on her Christmas list.

Cooking for two has been sooo fun! We have loved spending time in the kitchen making Butternut Squash Soup, Grasshopper Pie, Baked Alfredo and Vegetables Potatoes, Lasagna, Home-made pasta, Cowboy Quesadillas, Grilled Vegetables and Chicken, and many other delicious recipes. And, as of right now, every thing has turned out amazing (thanks to Sasha's amazing cooking)! The only near death experience is when I sliced a thick chunk into my left-birdy finger. Let's just say that my cutting privileges were taken away for a little while.

So, to sum everything up, and coming from an Italian heritage... Food brings people together! And thanks to everyone who gave us fun nick-nacks to cook with! Maybe a future blog will have the title "Ode to Kitchen Nick-Nacks"!

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess and a dashingly handsome prince charming. The two were meant to be together; you could say it was written in the stars! Then, one day, by some magical power, the two were led to the same forest, where the princess was picking wild berries. The prince saw her and his heart began to melt. Never had he seen a more beautiful maiden in all the land! The two met every day in the forest and sang surprisingly catchy duets together, and the world seemed to be in harmony.

However, the wise King of the empire, who had been watching their courtship blossom, knew that their love was not yet strong enough. The only way their love would become unbreakable was by splitting the two lovers apart. For this reason, (and many more!), the King sent the prince (who is remarkably stunning) to a faraway land to lead lost travelers to the kingdom.

The prince was gone for many days! And the breath-taking princess's heart began to ache. She continued serving those of her kingdom and tried to get the prince out of her mind, not knowing if they would ever see each other again; but she couldn't. Days turned into months, which rolled into years... and just as the princess was about to lose hope, she heard from her lofty castle's window cheers and whistles. She looked out and saw her prince charming galloping through the drawbridge and into the kingdom once again. Little did the princess know, she had left a mark on his heart... not any kind of mark, mind you! But a mark permanently scarred in the deepest part of his soul! Not one day had passed where he did not think of her wavy blonde hair, flowery red cheeks, and her morning dew eyes. As the princess glided down to the stairs, the prince raced to the castle. The horse halted at the castles gate, and the two lovers dashed to be in each other's arms once more.

No sooner had they touched, fireworks filled the sky! Her dainty pink dress magically transformed into an elegant white wedding dress, the prince's tattered clothes were converted into an impressively handsome dark green tunic, and wedding bells began chiming faintly in the background. The two headed into the castle where their love was sealed by true-love's kiss. And, as you know... They lived happily ever after. THE END

Now, as you can see, me and Sasha's love story is very similar to this fairy tale. However, the prince and princess's story ends with the line "and they lived happily ever after." Our story's last line is "and they live happily ever after." For our story is not yet complete, and in fact, it never will be. Because our adventures will continue each and every day! We will continually conquer evil, continually fall in love, and begin a kingdom of our own... Yes, our story is unraveling as we speak; and we hope to keep you updated with each new chapter. Stay tuned!
